Hi! I'm Mallory. Designer, thinker, and maker.
To say that I love design would be an understatement. I've dabbled in art and design in several forms since I was a kid and never tire of learning and experimenting with new mediums. It comes naturally and is a core part of who I am. I find humor and beauty nearly everywhere and enjoy living slowly and intentionally. When I'm not working on design, you can find me immersed in a fantasy book, out to dinner with family, or traveling with friends.
To begin my career I attended the University of Kansas and obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology. After college graduation, I worked at an academic publishing company performing preflight on artwork, preparing manuscripts, and coordinating copyediting. While at the publishing company, I had a fantastic mentor who began teaching me the basics of graphic design. I loved it so much I decided to return to school for a second degree in graphic design.
I incorporate both of my educational backgrounds, psychology and graphic design, into my design process. I believe that the best forms of visual communication evoke emotions in the audience, which my psychology degree allows me to dive deeper into. Great design should be engaging both visually and mentally.
After graduating from design school, I worked a contract job for a stationary company editing custom greeting cards and getting my feet wet in the design world. After my contract, I began my current position as a Production Artist for a powerhouse printing company that specializes in printing on drinkware, apparel, and promotion items. Working as a production artist allows me to flex my creative problem solving skills daily and there's never a dull moment.
Please check out my portfolio and don't hesitate to contact me with questions or simply to say hello.
